Welcome to the making of SolidLight, my 30 minute animated rock opera. Official Release 2026.
Reflecting on our microscopic, seemingly meaningless presence in the universe, I imagined a way to artistically express my existence through the experience of a rock opera, using something between telepathy and remote viewing, to pierce the imaginary edges of our limits. As expected, nothing responded, except for an intuition: that we are all dormant gods within a coma‑creation, and together we ensure that consciousness and collective dreams remain one. This became the foundation of the Solid Light architecture: a free-flowing, work-in-progress storytelling project with no boundaries of category or genre, driven by music and infused with fantasy, sci-fi, and spiritual themes. I feel this work is mostly about inner work-in-progress—a pathway of resilience and of knowing yourself as deeply as possible. I hope this work can inspire artists to explore new boundaries in the creative kingdom.
The realization of SolidLight would not have been possible without the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, whose jury of artists and dedicated staff helped bring this work to life.

MIA
Mia is a young god in a coma, whose dreams give rise to the living consciousness of Planet MIA.

ACTING
Even though I had previous experience as an actor (most notably in The Maieutic of Australian Aboriginal Dreams and a few short films in Montreal) this project required a far more demanding range of skills. The performances needed to flow seamlessly within an animation-influenced visual language so my acting had to adopt subtle ease-in/ease-out movement qualities, almost like an EMBODIED ANIMATION. Moreover, portraying multiple characters with distinct emotional arcs pushed me to develop challenging acting skills as quickly as possible, working from my own written dialogues and emotional frameworks. I engaged deeply with a wide spectrum of expressions—not only voice tone, pacing, and mood, but also body language, gestures, and detailed facial nuances, all tailored to ensure every scene merged cohesively within the animated world.
